A world collapses for them when families learn of the child's diagnosis. The psychosocial stresses on the entire family are severe and have far-reaching consequences.

How can family life ontinue? How can the family be financially secured? Social counseling looks at these and many other questions.

Often, families in this exceptional situation have very similar problems; sometimes special circumstances come into play. During social counseling, the association tries to provide assistance and find possible solutions to existing problems. Applications for reimbursement of travel costs, severe disability, home schooling, care or rehabilitation are processed together and forwarded to the appropriate institutions.
