Strengths-strengths group

As an aftercare service, the association offers group therapy to former patients. There are now two of these groups. One group with the age range between 7 and 12 years and one between 13 and 18 years. We deliberately made these separations of age because the issues of younger former patients are different than those of the older ones. 
The younger group met for the first time on 4/30 to get acquainted. At this meeting, we playfully discovered the different needs that move each individual. Everyone has individual strengths, which we wanted to bring out creatively in the form of designing a T-shirt. Creativity was also the focus of the meeting with the youth aftercare group on May 14. In the fall of 2021, the idea of a "Graffiti Project!" emerged. We received help from Anne Brodersen and Timm Höller, artists who are no strangers to the graffiti scene in Halle. Under the motto "each other teach other" we dived into the graffiti scene with the two of them and were thrilled to see how diverse this art form is. The young people collected ideas together which statement should be immortalized and agreed on "Power-Planet 9". "Power" stands for the strength that each individual possesses. "Planet" stands for the "children's planet" that connects everyone and "9" stands for the number of members of this youth aftercare group. Everyone let their individual handprint flow into the lettering. The result turned out just great and the feedback from the young people shows that it certainly wasn't the last time. 😎
